Standard Point of Sale Product Creation

Product Types Overview (Standard Products, Gift Certificates, & Fund Account Items)

In the MyRec.com Point of Sale Module - you can set up three different product types.

  1. Standard Product: A standard product can be a typical concession style item, like food or drink, but can also be a t-shirt, a daily pool pass with barcode, a fitness class drop-in and more!
  2. Gift Certificates: Gift Certificates in the MyRec.com System can be purchased in one household - and can be gifted to and redeemed in a separate household. Once purchased, the MyRec.com system will generate a printable Gift Certificate with a unique redemption code. The redemption code can then be entered by a Public Side User or a Management Side User and is converted into an Account Credit to be used. 
  3. Fund Accounts: A Fund Account item is useful in circumstances that a customer would like to place money on their Household Account to draw from at a later date. A good example of using Fund Accounts is for Senior Centers who have Seniors that would like to put money on their MyRec.com Account at the beginning of each month to make regular daily purchases at the center easy and convenient with staff simply pulling money from the Customer's Account Credit during a purchase. Fund Accounts are different from Gift Certificates in that the Fund Account item must be purchased in the Household the Account Credit is going to be applied in as the Fund Account Item immediately converts to an Account Credit once purchased. It's important to note that this product does not allow Prompt for Price setup, so you will need to create a separate product for each denomination you would like the public to purchase.
